Former President Sirleaf
and her
V.P. Joe Boakai
(Not on speaking terms)

Dear Amb. Boakai:

I'm moved to communicate to you through this medium so that the message will echo beyond individualism and that the public will bear us witness for future reference.

Amb. Boakai, you know very well that Madam  Sirleaf didn't support you during your Presidential Bid in 2017 due to your critical stance for good governance.

She did everything humanly possible to suppress your performance as a Vice President but that still didn't stop you from delivering for your people at a considerate level.

When you traveled to the U.S as Vice President of Liberia in 2011, you were kind to lobby with international partners, including the Brooklyn Park City Mayor to solicit material support for the Liberian National Police. Without hesitation, your partners listened and responded positively.

Upon your return to Liberia; we saw brand new police vehicles including, fire service trucks and the most talked about hot water truck that was sent to Liberia by your lobby and influence.
You also influenced the construction of the ELWA  Rehab Road, connecting  Duport Road Junction and the Red-light Parker Paint Junction.

You proposed and lobbied for the Construction of Road linking Gbarnga Bong County to Voijama Lofa County.  But former President Sirleaf had to ignore the Lofa Road Project because of some selfish reasons or perhaps she felt you would take the glory at the end and would make you win the minds of Liberians to elect you.

Most of the road connectivity in Liberia of the twelve (12) years of Madam Sirleaf’s regime was due to your ingenuity and farsightedness.

As an educated and experienced Liberian, you understood the real issues confronting the Liberian society. You proffered so [many] ideas including investment in the agriculture sector that could have helped Madam Sirleaf to have done better than worst. She never listened but chose to squander opportunities. The little things you achieved as a government during the first term in office was due to a good working relationship between you and her.

Let me also be fair to mention that Ellen spoiled this Country the moment she began listening to her sophisticated criminal son Robert Sirleaf instead of you. Her hit for you growled deeper when you refused to join her do bad deeds. When she lost balance and rolled in the depth of corruption, you maintained your fragrance of integrity. You always understood the difference between what belongs to the public (Liberians) and what belongs to you individually.

You proudly distanced yourself from the following clandestine deeds of Madam Sirleaf, such as the bankruptcy of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) for personal gain, nepotism, favoritism, diverting of national resources into private investment, prioritizing self-interest/benefits above national challenges; and this is vividly seen for her numerous personal investments in (Farmington Hotel, Royal Grand Hotel, etc.) as well as those concessions signed to satisfy her business partners and international friends that were beneficial to her as individual and not the State, she headed at the time.

Amb. Boakai, your choice for transparency and accountability has won you the trust and confidence of the Liberian People; at the same time, distancing yourself from a high code of corruption of Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf by not being involved with her on personal transactions.

As you're aware, the relationship between Ellen and the incompetent [man] she made President is rapidly fallen apart. She has started fetching out whom to work with. The information has it that she is currently throwing her political weight behind the inexperienced and power-greed Alexander Cummings in an attempt to again control the next ruling establishment of the CPP, if possible. Although you didn't inform us openly, Amb Boakai, we're aware of the planned reconciliation between you and Madam Sirleaf which we believe is not healthy for your political sojourn.

Formerb Vice President Boakai

Please note, Madam Ellen is not coming to help you strengthen the UP or CPP. She intends to make Cummings President by all cost to protect her family from facing justice and not being held accountable for the damages she caused the Motherland.

Passing on the corruption legacy

Though she has opted to support Cummings, she is coming to a realization and understanding that Cummings lacks political constituency and the only way her mission can be accomplished is by collaborating with people like you. Ellen truly knows for a fact that you, Amb. Boakai, are the face of the opposition political parties in Liberia and hope for millions of Liberians. Her mission is to get closer, to break the CPP apart and to make Alexander Cummings the Vice Running Mate to you for the upcoming Presidential Elections if George Weah manages to finish his term in office.

Though, we do not blame innocent George Weah for damaging our Country because he had early proved that he was unable to properly lead or govern well; again the dirty deeds of Madam Sirleaf brought this nightmare upon us Liberians. President Weah’s incompetence was clearly proven when he sold his stander-bearer space to Cllr. Winston Tubman in 2011 and his muteness at the Liberian Senate.

Madam Ellen supported President Weah for her personal protection which you consciously could not guarantee her to the detriment of the Liberian People. From all indications, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is wicked and is responsible for the backwardness of our beloved Country.

Therefore, we are kindly appealing to you with humility Am. Boakai to not associate with Madam Ellen, this old lady means no good for this Country. You cannot flush a virus out of a computer to enhance good performance and at the same time put the same virus into the computer and expect it to perform well. In other words, Ellen was the virus in Unity Party that caused the party's defeat in 2017, how then can you reinstate her and expect to get better result? This is a question my colleagues in the Unity Party must address!!

Finally, please be aware that the masses love you but rejected you in 2017 Amb. Boakai not because you're bad or would be a bad leader but because they were tired of Madam Ellen's mediocrity.

Any attempt for you to bring her closer will cause you to lose good and extremely essential political allies and most of the Liberian masses will have no alternative but to reject you. Amb. Boakai.  Our hope is in you, don't let us down.

Again, we call on the International Community including the UN, US Embassy, AU and ECOWAS to join us in asking Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to focus on her current portfolio and leave us to independently decide for ourselves politically.

We hope that you receive this communication as a reminder of history to embark on changing the negative narratives for a reformative one.

Yours consciously,

Ben B. Togbah, Jr.
CoP Youth Wing- Chairman
