Since President Sirleaf’s recent trip to Nigeria, and the subsequent rumors running amok that she had signed a document authorizing the Nigerian Government to extradite Charles Taylor to Sierra Leone, tension has been brewing in Monrovia, the capital of the war ravaged West African Country. The tension is not only limited to the streets of Monrovia, but also at the Liberian Senate where the estrange wife of Charles Taylor serves as senator of Bong County. Gbarnga, the capital of Bong County, was Mr. Taylor’s stronghold during the Liberian Civil war.
In another development, Sen. Prince Johnson has accused Taylor’s loyalists of soliciting his support in their alleged efforts to create chaos in Liberia.
