Residents of Matadi and surrounding areas are expected to present some funds and items to the Public Works Ministry towards the road reconditioning project of the Fiamah-Matadi and Airfield-Matadi roads. The presentation ceremony is expected to be at 2.p.m. at the Ministry.

According to a spokesman of the Matadi Community, Mr. George Dahn, the presentation ceremony is the residents’ way of identifying with the efforts of the Public Works Ministry to have the roads reconditioned. He expressed the community’s wish of having the money and items used by the Ministry to recondition the two routes leading to Matadi, and so alleviate their transportation problem.

He said it was because of the deplorable condition of the roads that the residents held several meetings to make the contribution towards the project.

Meanwhile, Mr. Dahn has commended the residents for their cooperation and understanding as the reconditioning of the road will be of benefit to all of them.
