The Management of Cavalla Rubber Corporation and Maryland Oil Palm Plantation has turned over to the Youth of Pleebo Sodoken District its newly constructed Youth Center on October 31, 2014.
The Youth Center value over eighty thousand United States Dollars (USD80, 000.00) comprises of 2 Offices, Conference room with platform, Reading room, Television and sports room and a Store room.
The Management also turned over to the Youth of Pleebo for use at the center, a 5kva generator, desk top computer, 32’ flat screen television, 2 Office desk and chairs and 25 plastic chairs.
Speaking on behalf of Management, Deputy Managing Director John Y. Barkemeni said the construction of the Pleebo Youth Center by CRC and MOPP was in support of the Government of Liberia Youth Capacity building and empowerment program.
He said the Management will remain committed to identify with the people of Maryland County for development purposes.

The dedication of the Pleebo Youth Center was graced by Maryland County Acting Superintendent Nathaniel Toe, Head of UNMIL Field Office Maryland County Thomas Mtaisi, Local Authorities, Heads of various Youth Organizations and the Youth of Pleebo Sodoken District.
Performing the ceremony of cutting the ribbon to the newly constructed facility, Maryland County Acting Superintendent Nathaniel Toe lauded the Management of CRC and MOPP for several developments including the construction of the Pleebo Youth Center. He described the gesture as timely and useful to the Youth of Pleebo Sodoken District. He said the action of CRC and MOPP was a clear manifestation of upholding to its corporate social responsibility. He advised the Youth to use the center for constructive purposes.
Speaking on behalf of the Youth of Pleebo Sodoken District the Vice President for Administration Abraham Kyne commended the Management for the facility and further stated that the center will enable young people to gather and discuss constructive issues that will shift their destiny in the society. He further stated that the action of CRC and MOPP will cement the relationship between the people of the District and both Companies.
For his part the Head of UNMIL Field Office Maryland County Thomas Mtaisi expressed thanks and appreciation to the Management and emphasized that it was because of the maintained peace in Liberia that developments are going on all over the Country. He advised the Youth to maintain the facility as it has been turned over to them.
Meanwhile the Management of Cavalla Rubber Corporation and Maryland Oil Palm Plantation has embarked on the rehabilitation of the 25Km Pleebo to Harper Highway which have become a hindrance to the smooth movement of ambulances and other vehicles plying the route.
