Hundreds to Grace This Year’s World Peace

Hundreds of Liberians and foreign residents are expected to grace this year’s
World Peace Day Celebration. The day will be celebrated across the globe
today, Tuesday.
This year’s event which has its theme: “Share the Hope!! Pass
the Peace,” is organized by USAID in collaboration with the Liberian
Transition Initiative (LTI).
Already, massive preparations befitting the event are underway. The occasion
takes place at the Centennial Memorial Pavilion on Ashmun Street, starting
2:00 Post Meridian.
According to the organizers of this year’s celebration, among dignitaries
expected to attend the program include, Acting NTGL chairman, Wesley Momo
Johnson; Speaker of the NTLA, George Dweh, the Chief Justice of the Supreme
Court, Cllr. Henry Reed Cooper; and American Ambassador to Liberia, John
W. Blaney.
Others include, Cabinet ministers, NTLA members, members of the Judiciary,
Civil Society Organizations, representatives of NGOs, political parties,
youth, the Liberian public in general and other stakeholders in the Liberian
peace process.
Activities to commemorate the event include music, drama, poetry and poem
recital.
Meanwhile, others expected to perform include, Amb. Maron D. Cassell, the
Flomo Theater Production, Children Peace Club, Liberian Cultural Troop,
Evangelical Mass Choir, Full Gospel Mass Choir, Liberia Movies Union and
Evangelist John Sheriff.
