The Chairman Emeritus of the disbanded Liberia United for Reconciliation and Democracy (LURD), Sekou Demate Conneh has called on members of the dissolved movement to foster unity in encouraging the ongoing peace process.

Mr. Conneh regretted that despite enormous collective efforts from parties to the Comprehensive Peace Accord which has brought the country to relative stability, there was wrangling within what remains of the defunct LURD.

He revealed to journalists at his Congo Town residence yesterday that a handful of his associates who are serving the transitional government were still bent on fomenting disunity within the remains of dissolved organization.

Mr. Conneh lamented that even with the level of deceit being permeated by the very few elements, his leadership has always been consulted to come to the rescue of those nominees in the NTGL especially when their jobs are threatened.

He called on those in such habit to change their attitude because they have to conform with the moral and ethical standards of good governance. “I will never support any wrongful treatment of any of them. But on the same note, if any of them breaks the law, or behaves inappropriately, I will not hesitate to endorse their dismissal from the NTGL,” he warned.
