Speaker George Dweh of the National Transitional Legislative Assembly (NTLA) has blamed the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative to Liberia Jacques Paul Klein for the insecurity created in Monrovia by former GOL fighters during the start of the DDRR program.

Speaker Dweh said Ambassador Klein failed to allow heads of warring parties to be involved in the planning stage of the DDRR program.

He regretted this ugly situation which has the potential to continue the suffering of the Liberian people and residents near this capital.

NTLA Speaker George Dweh described the Ambassador Klein’s method of the DDRR program as potentially dangerous and unacceptable to the intent and spirit of the comprehensive peace accord.

Ambassador Klein’s method of the DDRR program, the NTLA Press Bureau quotes Speaker Dweh as describing it unhealthy to the wishes and aspiration of the Liberian people.

Meanwhile, the NTLA Speaker is calling for an immediate cease-fire and an urgent meeting with the United Nations, ECOWAS, the European Union and the warring parties as a way of continuing consultative discussion to ensure the fullest implementation of the peace accord to get genuine peace in Liberia.
