There appears to be a split within the former GOL relative to the nomination
of individuals to its slots in the NTGL and dismissal from such slots.
According to a release issued last night, the former GOL as a party to the Accra
Comprehensive Peace Agreement, through its seven man committee to act on behalf
of the former hereby calls on the Chairman of the National Transitional Government
of Liberia to reinstate its nominees in persons of Mr. Ramsee Moore, Director
of the National Security Agency and Madam Agnes Reeves Taylor, Liberia’s
Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization(IMO) with
immediate effect.
The former GOL’s release signed by former Vice president John Gray divulged
that it "views the action of NTGL Chariman Gyude Bryant to arbitrarily
dismiss and replace nominees of the former GOL as a direct contravention of
the spirit and letter of the Accra Comprehensive Peace Agreement and has the
propensity to hinder or otherwise cause disruptions in the implementation of
the Accra Agreement."
Continuing, the former GOL said, in consonance with its avowed commitment to
ensure the unhindered implementation of the peace process, it shall make appropriate
representations to the international community, the facilitators of the Liberia
Peace Process and other interested parties so as to assure that the present
problem created by the Chairman of the NTGL can be resolved in an amicable manner
within the context of the ongoing peace process.
It can be recalled that the former president of Liberia, Mr. Moses Z. Blah recently
endorsed the dismissal of Mr. Moore on grounds that he(Moore) has behaved unprofessionally.
Former president Blah then constituted a committee to do business relative to
its participation in the NTGL on behalf of the former GOL. The constituted committee
is headed by former Vice President John Gray.
