In the wake of the increased rebel LURD attacks, coupled with the displacement of thousands of students in the country, the national chairman of the Progressive Revolutionary Council(PRC), Mr. Nathaniel McGill has expressed concern about a potential mass failure in this year's WAEC examination.

Speaking to a group of displaced students from Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Nimba, Bong and parts of Montserrado(Brewerville), who had gone to pay him a courtesy call, Mr. McGill said he could not see how these war-affected students would pass the pending exams, having been displaced and put out of classes for a protracted period.

Mr. McGill used the occasion to call on government and the WAEC to postpone the examinations, and further take responsibilty for other students who are yet to pay their examination fees. He further urged government to cancel the pre-condition of passing the WAEC before graduation this year.

For their part, the students praised the PRC and its chairman for always advocating on their behalf.

Speaking through a spokesperson, Mr. Abraham Kweah from the Zwedru Multilateral High School in Grand Gedeh County, they called on LURD and government to seek dialogue and bring peace to the Liberian people, and further called on Guinea and Ivory Coast to stop supporting the rebel LURD against Liberia and its people, a PRC release said.
