Liberia's Lone Star defeated Sudan on Sunday in what is considered the most monitored soccer match on the African continent this weekend. The first goal was scored by Kelvin Sebwe in the 38th minute, while George Weah, once African and World footballer of the year, decided to put the icing on the cake in the 55th minute. Liberia now has a three point-lead over Sudan in group B.

Meanwhile, Nigeria did not get the help it needed from Sierra Leone to keep its World Cup hope alive. Though Sierra Leone has lost all matches in group B, they surprisingly brought the Nigeria Eagles down with a single shot.

Nigeria and Ghana were favorites in this group, but as one Liberian soccer lover puts it: "Liberia [is] gone. Ghana and Nigeria will need binoculars to take a glance at the Lone Star of Liberia."
