Very few people exemplify generosity and humility and at the same time be the bedrock of their community, as was the case with MaYamah Bonai- Haddad. MaYamah who hailed from Konia Town, Lofa County, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2001, in Monrovia after a protracted illness inflicted by the Liberian war. She was married to the late Waddi El Haddad commonly called "Bearber" by inhabitants of Lofa county.

Throughout her life, her sixty plus years of existence, MaYamah was a mother to all who lived in Konia Town. She counseled all who she encountered, and helped those in need. She made her home warm and hospitable to travelers and visitors who found their way to Konia.

A muslim by faith, her parents and family were from Ttsue, Nkerbobuzue and Barkedue in Lofa County.

The late MaYamah Bonia is survived by her children and a host of relatives based at home and abroad. Her children are: Musue Noha Haddad, a liberian Journalist and staff member of The Perspective newsmagazine, Ruth Rose Haddad-Johnson, Samuel N. Haddad, Salem L. Haddad, Mamadee Haddad of Guinea, Teta Aamira Haddad and a host of adopted children.

MaYamah remains was laid to rest on Sunday, November 4, 2001. A family feast is being planned for early December.
